Every skateboarder who may have been visiting a show of "Starlight Express" in Bochum, Germany, must have been dreaming about what became reality for a bunch of skateboarders early may 2006. "Starlight Express", a musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, is performed completely on rollerskates and due to this fact owns a stage which is packed with transitions, a huge channelgap and downhill-like lines trough the whole place, even a kicker and an oververt-wallride, and all of this seems to scream for beeing "mistreated" with a skateboard.

Mack McKelton, Jürgen Horwarth, Michael Mackrodt, Benni Dittrich, Ferit Batir & Veith Kilbert had the chance to shred that insane parcours with its theatre athmosphere, its dramatic lighting and polished floor.

For about three hours it was all out exceptional circumstances, no more rollerskating performers playacting locomotives. For about three hours it was strictly skateboarding in this dignified place.

To actually get the permission to perform some stunning skateboarding, turned out to be rather difficult. The skaters needed to change setups, get rid of their streetwheels to receive supersoft urethane instead. At first it also was said that the wood must not touch the floor-surface at all, which would have made even ollies quite impossible. It was all about not damaging the fragile setting on stage, which really was a serious issue!

But in the end a great session in a rather challenging surrounding took place and Red Bull gained skateboarding access to an area, which starved for being blessed with flips, transfers, wallrides, carves and, all in all, big fun!
