Have you ever imagined how it would be like to skate on the highway, an airport, inside a museum or in any other weird place? This is what Red Bull Access All Areas is about. So, forget about the signs that say “no skating” because now, everything is allowed. This event takes place worldwide and only the best skaters around the world have this unique opportunity to express themselves. This time, Caracas was the location..
Caracas.- 11.18.07. The best nine skaters of the country took part in this unique activity in which each one had the chance to perform their manoeuvres on their skateboards in a friendly and unexpected venue. Red Bull Access All Areas took place at the Saxo Nightclub, which for more than three hours was the area for the skaters to go around through the dance floor.
Red Bull Access All Areas is considered a skateboard session instead of a regular competition. Following the events in Germany and Austria, this year Red Bull Access All Areas took place throughout different places in Europe and South America, in cities like Prague and countries like Greece, Switzerland, Colombia and now, Venezuela in order to continue to Italy and Spain.
The skaters performed their tricks, one by one, accompanied by the winner of the Latin X Games: Milton Martínez, 16-year old and Red Bull athlete, who travelled all the way from Argentina to Venezuela, exclusively to share his skateboard skills. About the experience, Milton says: “I liked it very much because it was in a place that I am not used to skating. The people were very friendly with us. All the tricks we did were good; on the dance floor, the bar, even the jumps from the dance floor to the were good”.
Since the days he was a kid, Milton felt an attraction to the skateboard and that he confirmed himself in just a few lines: “I’ve been practicing skateboard practically since I was born. My family is known as a skater family. So it is something natural for me. It is my passion”. When we asked him about the experience with the Venezuelan skaters, he said: “I feel very good with the local movement, the guys have very good tricks”.
Representing Venezuela were the skaters Héctor Estévez (Margarita), José Mosquera (Barquisimeto), Simón El Alam (Valencia), Alfonzo Gamez (Maracay), Hommy Rengifo (La Guaira), Ramón González (San Antonio), Luigi Justy (San Antonio), Cliber Velásquez (Caracas) and David Goliot (San Antonio) who performed very good tricks and maneouvres in a private show, only for the athletes to enjoy. In the end, they all hugged as friends for the pictures and congratulated each other for the jumps and the risks taken during the show this Sunday evening.
