Red Bull Access All Areas, Parque de los deseos Medellín
They were seven the chosen ones… The challenge was awaiting them… The timid rays of sun that still escaped right before the sunset, were witnesses of the strange presence of those that would have the opportunity to show their talent in that architectural temple of the city.
The setting could not be better: Water, land, trees, people, walls, brick and asphalt; they blended into an atypical mold that broke loose the mind of the young skaters, since the place, designed by architect Felipe Uribe, seemed to be inspired by the irreverent lines of a Skate Park.
Red Bull Access All Areas opened the doors of an inaccessible, untouchable and impenetrable place when skating. Seven of the most noticeable Skaters from Medellín were the privileged ones and for a space of six hours, they became masters and lords of the 12.431 square meters of the Parque de los Deseos in Medellín.
Undoubtedly, each corner, each railing; incited to commit the sin of riding in a place prohibited to do so. Because of it, only the best ones were awarded and before the lenses of the cameras they ratified their skill, that trick after trick entranced the eyes of the assistants.
Sebastián Gonzalez, Jorge Botero, Cristián Montoya, Jose David Velez, Jonathan Garcia, Juan Esteban Velasquez and Juan Sebastian Gonzales; little by little, before the stare of the people, took control of each piece that permitted them to develop the tricks that for a long time they repressed before the impotence of not being allowed to carry them out in this forbidden place.
An the terrace of the House of the Music, and under the reddish effect that the sun gave at the arrival of the sunset, the boys put to test their skills on the board, challenging the place with figures, falls, shouts and applauses.
Leaps with the ones that seemed to want to scratch the sky, figures that carried the concentration to the extreme, blows that put to test the persistence and a setting that shouted to be used, was the ecstatic atmosphere that was breathed and that filled the lungs of the assistants.
After a little break where the athletes recovered strength and courage to continue facing the lines of the place, the small square of the Park was the ideal place to continue with the extraordinary performance of talent.
As in a cruel battle of talents and forces, one by one passed to show why they were considered to be the best ones. Blows, blood, contusions; did their appearance in the tireless bodies of the seven, but as the mythical Roman heroes of the antiquity, they continued fighting, but not for glory or lands of a kingdom, only in the search of that perfect trick.
Improvised obstacles were transformed into the final test for these seven gladiators of the asphalt. Majestic leaps, perfect falls accompanied by the own style of each one of the skaters, were the perfect final stitch to the Red Bull Access All Areas in The Parque de los Deseos in Medellín.
